Call of Duty: Black Ops producer Dan Bunting just announced on Major Nelson Radio that the first map pack for the game, “First Strike”, will launch exclusively on Xbox LIVE February 1, 2011 for 1200 MS Points ($15).
There are 5 new maps, 4 for Multiplayer and 1 for Zombies:
Multiplayer
Berlin Wall: Located in Berlin at Checkpoint Charlie, is a battle of East vs West Berlin.
Kowloon: Rainy rooftop map inspired by the Single Player campaign, based on Kowloon, China.
Discovery: Abandoned German WW2 Research Center in Antarctica.
Stadium: Hockey Rink in Northeastern United States.
Zombies
Ascension: Classified.
I’ve spent the better part of the last week playing Halo: Reach, the last Halo game ever by Bungie. It’s really awesome. I’ve gotten halfway through the Campaign and played a ton of multiplayer, which is rare for me now because I only play a game for an hour or two at the most anymore before moving on to a new one. If you have yet to play Reach, you should do so. Right now.
Remember Project Natal? Sure you do.

THEY TOOK MAH ONLINE PLAY!
In just under 3 hours, at Midnight Pacific Time (3am Eastern), you’ll be able to hear the screams of agony from thousands of Halo 2 fans worldwide as Microsoft pulls the plug on Xbox LIVE support for the OG Xbox after just over 7 years of service. What does this mean? Well, any Xbox titles you could play online on the Xbox or Xbox 360 will cease to function (single and local multiplayer will continue to work), and you won’t be able to download any of the extra content for those games. In the end, dropping OG Xbox from Xbox LIVE will bring along many new features to the service on the Xbox 360, such as a rumored friends list expansion.
If you’re like me and you don’t have an Xbox capable of going online, Giant Bomb is here to help! Starting at 10pm Pacific (1am Eastern), they’ll be streaming the XBOXALYPSE live on USTREAM, jumping in and out of several games until the servers come crashing down, The Matrix Online style.
